WASTE MANAGEMENT PROUD TO HELP WITH SECOND ANNUAL
WAG N' WALK TO BENEFIT ABUSED & ABANDONED ANIMALS

Simi Valley, CA, September 28, 2007 – This Saturday, more than 300 pet owners and their dogs will be participating in the second annual Wag N' Walk charity event to raise money for Animal Rescue Volunteers. Waste Management is proud to be a corporate sponsor for the event and to have a staffed information table at the event fair.

Animal Rescue Volunteers is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that has been rescuing dogs, cats and horses since 1994. ARV provides food, care and foster homes for the animals until they are adopted. Adoptions are held every week at PetSmart in Simi Valley.

"At ARV, we rely solely on our volunteers and donations from the community in our efforts to rescue animals, which is why Waste Management's continued support of our efforts is important," said Nancy McChesney of ARV. "We are grateful for WM's assistance and know that the animals we help are too."

"We're happy to help support Animal Rescue Volunteers. This event is a way for Waste Management to partner with the community and help a group that's doing great work - for animals and for people," said Mike Smith, Waste Management's Market Area General Manager for Ventura County.

During the event, participants will walk their pets over a three-mile path that starts at Rancho Simi Community Park at the corner of Royal Avenue and Erringer Road. ARV volunteers are hoping that this year's Wag N' Walk participants will raise more than last year's total donation amount of $30,000.

To participate, members of the community must pre-register for the event at www.arvsimi.org, click on Wag N’ Walk and make a one-time donation. For more information, please visit the ARV website or call 805-579-8047.
