WASTE MANAGEMENT CELEBRATES
America Recycles Day

Dear Friends,

In honor of America Recycles Day (ARD), Waste Management encourages all Ventura County residents to renew their commitment to recycling and take the pledge and become a recycling ambassador in your community.

ARD began on November 15, 1997 and is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encourage Americans to recycle and buy recycled products. WM is a proud sponsor of this event and throughout the years, residents in every state of the nation participate in the ARD campaign and pledge to increase their recycling habits at home and work.

On average, consumers produce 4.5 pounds of waste per day and participating in recycling programs is an important component to long-term sustainability. We all know the 3R's - reduce, reuse and recycle, now we ask that you consider a fourth - buy "recycled" products.

As the nation's largest residential recycler, Waste Management is committed to expanding our leadership and believes recycling fulfills the promise of environmental and economic sustainability. On this day, we ask all residents to consider the benefits of recycling and explore the expanded recycling options available to them with the hopes that recycling participation continues to grow.

We are also focusing on recycling nontraditional materials such as compact fluorescent lamps, electronics, and construction and demolition (C&D) waste because these materials often have value that WM can recover.

Waste Management offers a range of waste recycling solutions including:

  • Curbside recycling - gray cart for paper, cans, plastic, bottles
  • Curbside yard trimming recycling - green cart for grass, leaves, branches
  • Commercial business co-mingled recycling
  • Industrial recycling - concrete, asphalt, contruction & demolition materials
  • Convenient Syringe and Lancet by Mail program - click here
  • Lamptracker - commercial recycling of CFL's - click here
