I am pleased to welcome you to the Waste Management/GI Industries and the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center’s second issue of our email newsletter, Spotlight. You are receiving this e-mail because we understand you’re interested in waste management issues such as transportation, land use planning, resource management, public health and environmental protection.

I am often asked what the relationship is between G.I. Industries and the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center. Truth is, we are two aspects of one company, and we work together. Your Waste Management/G.I. Industries driver picks up trash and recyclables from your home or business, and brings it to the landfill where our workers make sure that it is safely handled.

We are very proud of the modern environmental controls on our trucks, and we have also bought new trucks that run on Liquified Natural Gas. I’ve been in the trash industry for more than 30 years and the work we’ve done recently to make our trucks run cleaner is really unprecedented in my experience.
