Cajun Festival
Waste Management was proud to be a corporate sponsor for the 17th Annual Cajun Festival. This year’s festival took place on Memorial Weekend, May 27th & 28th. This annual event, organized by the Simi Sunrise Rotary Club, is one of the largest Cajun Festivals west of the Mississippi.
Children of all ages enjoyed the greatly expanded "Cajun Kid's" Area and, with one of the largest and shaded outside dance floors in the entire country, hudredes of people danced to the lively beat of the phenomenal Cajun and Zydeco bands.
While creating a fun-filled event for families and friends, the fesitval raises money for people and organizations in need. Over the course of its history, the Cajun Creole Music Festival has enabled the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise to distribute net proceeds in excess of $1,000,000 to numerous charitable organizations and community groups in Simi Valley, Ventura County, and even internationally.
Waste Management is proud to be involved with this event and with Rotary Being part of community events like this is what Waste Management believes make all of the communities we serve a better place to work and live.
We would like to thank the many Waste Management employees and community members who helped out at this year’s festival.
