Scoping Meeting for WM Project

Dear Friends:

On Monday, June 2, the Ventura County Planning Department will be holding a scoping meeting for our proposed modernization and expansion of the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center.

Last week, the Ventura County Planning Department selected Science Applications International Corporation, a Santa Barbara environmental engineering and consulting firm, to develop the environmental impact report (EIR) for our project.

SAIC will conduct research and analysis to advise the community, the County and WM about elements of WM’s plan that need to be analyzed and addressed.

The initial draft EIR will be circulated to the public and residents of Ventura County will be encouraged to review it and have a chance to provide feedback at the scoping meeting.

Public input from the community is a critical part of the project’s evaluation and residents are invited to attend the scoping meeting.

Monday, June 2, 6:00 p.m.
Simi Valley City Hall
2929 Tapo Canyon Road

More information on our proposed plans is available on our website. If you have any questions, please contact Scott Tignac at (805) 579-7478.
