Dear Friends,

I’m glad to tell you that we’re moving forward with our plans to modernize and expand the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center. The Ventura County Planning Department recently issued a notice of preparation of an environmental impact report for the project. We have always strongly supported the development of a full EIR for the project and are pleased that the process is now officially underway.

With the new year comes new resolutions and we would like to encourage Ventura County residents to be better recyclers in 2008. GI Industries provides residential recycling collection for basic household items such as paper and plastic, but there are additional options for the proper disposal of household hazardous waste and electronic items. What’s more, in response to your requests to increase recycling of building materials, Waste Management opened a new construction and demolition recycling facility at the Simi Valley Landfill.
